So this week, I'll be recommending a book that I should read this time, and not you! The recommended book to read is Life of Pi, by Canadian author Yann Martel. I've heard quite mixed reviews about the book, and so I'm eager to read it for myself, even though it's been more than 10 years since its publication. The movie adaptation came out last year, which I'm yet to watch as well. So if you haven't read the book yet, feel free to pick it up at your local library or bookstore and join me. Happy readings!

Get on the phone this week. Call that relative, friend, loved one, that you haven't heard from or spoken to in a little while. Don't text or email. Call. A few minutes (or an hour's length) of phone conversation wont hurt any. Take a nice leisurely walk sometime this week. Enjoy the weather, whether it's the middle of winter, or pretty hot where you are (be sure to dress accordingly). Step out there and enjoy the scenery, appreciate nature and the gift of living. Walking is not only good as a physical exercise, but it acts as a mental exercise as well. Getting some fresh air is necessary for the mental state; it allows you to think clearly while relieving some of the stress from your shoulders, especially if you take a walk in between work hours. Delirium, by Lauren Oliver

This is a very intriguing, intoxicating thriller that you'll be glad you opened up. I never used to glance at books of this genre before, much less purchase it to read, but I can tell you this book has been added to my top 10 favorite reads of all time. It is a Utopian-based novel, but not at all SciFi-like or filled with 'futuristic' mumbo jumbos. No, I was very much impressed with Oliver's writing, and I would recommend this to anyone, even if books with futuristic themes are not usually their type of reads. It's supposedly geared towards YA, but it is solid enough for any adult reader. Believe me when I say you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to read the second book in the series, Pandemonium, and all the others that follow: Raquiem, and Annabel. Below is a link to Delirium on Amazon. Enjoy!

EDITOR RECOMMENDED BOOK

Delirium, by Lauren Oliver

This is a very intriguing, intoxicating thriller that you'll be glad you opened up. I never used to glance at books of this genre before, much less purchase it to read, but I can tell you this book has been added to my top 10 favorite reads of all time. It is a Utopian-based novel, but not at all SciFi-like or filled with 'futuristic' mumbo jumbos. No, I was very much impressed with Oliver's writing, and I would recommend this to anyone, even if books with futuristic themes are not usually their type of reads. It's supposedly geared towards YA, but it is solid enough for any adult reader. Believe me when I say you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to read the second book in the series, Pandemonium, and all the others that follow: Raquiem, and Annabel. Below is a link to Delirium on Amazon. Enjoy!

Enjoy the melody that music provides, appreciate the art of rhythmic harmony that it is made up of, and appreciate the artistes and instrumentalists that bring it all together to make it what it is.
